Carson, California-Non vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) Direct Container Line announced the appointment this week of Michael Gentile as Station Manager and Linda Turkel as Account Executive for the company's Baltimore office.
Michael Gentile has over fifteen years of experience in the transportation industry working for freight forwarders and NVOCCs in the Baltimore area. His work experience includes sales and operations management positions with Ecu Line/Fleet and Votainer/AEI.
Linda Turkel joins DCL with extensive experience in the Baltimore transportation community. She has held various positions in sales, working for companies like Farrell Lines, Fleet Shipping, and P & O Containers. Before joining the transportation provider side of the industry, she was also Export Manager for a textile company in Baltimore.
The Baltimore office was opened in the fall of 1999 in response to requests from customers in the local shipping community and is one of 14 DCL offices in North America. The office serves customers in the metro Baltimore area plus a large portion of the mid-Atlantic region from Norfolk, Virginia to York, Pennsylvania.
